Malegaon Blast
New Delhi: Sadhvi Pragya, who was recently acquitted of all charges in the Malegaon blast case, has made a big claim. She said that she was tortured and forced to name Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, and many others. A special NIA court in Mumbai acquitted all 7 accused, including Pragya, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. 6 people lost their lives in this blast, and more than 100 people were injured. The court has ordered a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
Sadhvi Pragya said on Saturday that she was being forced to lie. That's why she did not name anyone. She said, 'They asked me to name many people, including Ram Madhav. To do this, they tortured me; my lungs got damaged... I was kept in a hospital illegally. I will tell all this in my story, but the truth cannot be suppressed. I lived in Gujarat, so they asked me to name Prime Minister Modi (who was the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time). I did not name anyone because they wanted me to lie.

He further said that he was also pressured to name Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mohan Bhagwat, and senior RSS functionary Indresh Kumar. He alleged, 'They said, Name these people, and we will not kill you.' After almost 17 years, a special NIA court in Mumbai on July 31 acquitted all 7 accused, including former BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case. All were already out on bail.
The blast took place in Malegaon town of Nashik district on September 29, 2008. 6 people were killed, and more than 100 were injured. The court ordered a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to each injured victim.
The court said in its judgment that the chassis number of the motorcycle used in the blast had been erased. The court also said that there was no credible evidence to prove that Thakur was the owner of that vehicle. The court also said that she had taken sanyaas two years before the incident and had renounced material pleasures.
